Educational Workshops
Educational Workshops provide an opportunity for Allegheny Together
communities to learn about inspirational ideas and best practices as related to
each component of the National Trust’s Main Street Approach—Design, Business
Development, Promotion and Organization.
Stowe Streetscape Update
An important step forward has been
taken towards the goal of improving the streetscape along Broadway Avenue. In a
collaboration of the Stowe Business District Advisory Committee and the
Char-West Council of Government, Stowe Township has selected an engineering
firm, Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), to design and engineer
improvements to the Broadway Avenue business district. This design and
engineering effort is being funded by a Community Development Block Grant from
Allegheny County Economic Development and is expected to be complete by next
summer 2011.
At this juncture, the Township Commissioners have approved the proposed
streetscape improvements (lighting & landscaping) proposed by CEC for the two
core blocks on Broadway and are moving forward towards the bidding process.
